A Picture Perfect October Wedding - Meg and Johnny at Cafe Brauer
With a job that often puts me in a new venue or location every day, it can be really nice to latch onto some stability from time to time. In this case, that came in the form of the lovely Cafe Brauer, which I’ve shot at 5 times just this year. While it’s no doubt that each couple incorporated their own personal style on the historic venue, it was still very nice to know generally what to expect throughout the day. Like home-court advantage.
Before we stepped on home court, we started the day at The Ambassador hotel, tucked away in Gold Coast, just south of Lincoln Park. The IV’s were flowing, fortifying the bridal party after a long night post-rehearsal dinner. Our photo sessions spanned from the gardens outside the Conservatory to the lakefront just off Fullerton.
Perhaps the most popular people on earth, Meg and Johnny’s bridal party had more members than an overcrowded homeroom, but moved efficiently, and before we knew it we were welcoming them all down the aisle in the beautiful Honeycomb.
Once the “I do’s” were said and tears were shed, we moved our operation up to Brauer where the disco balls hung in droves. Advice to future wedding-havers— invest in lights! Obviously photographers and videographers bring our own lights, but when there’s strong, high quality light scattered around the venue and pointed strategically, it makes for some outstanding photos and videos.
Anyway, I’ve rambled on too long. Enjoy the film!
